LWW In the February 2021 issue of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, we publish very readable print and online articles—there is so much to learn and keep up with. I know that many readers only have a little time to venture outside their subspecialist area of interest. So, in this issue, I am pleased to highlight my Editor’s Choice of three articles particularly suitable for general reading and all on the theme of ‘new ways of looking at familiar information’ (1−3). These research articles have accompanying editorials that are insightful and give the much-needed context for further understanding of future potential (4−6). The first article examines the time course in intracranial pressure (ICP) and cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) monitoring data and associations between agerelated thresholds with mortality in pediatric patients undergoing invasive ICP monitoring (1). The second article analyzes the distribution of quantitative results from commonly used laboratory tests in the PICU population considered in relation to hospital outcome (2). The third article explores the relationship between parameters found in the electronic health record and time to cardiac death after terminal withdrawal of life-sustaining therapies in potential organ donors (3). All three articles and their related editorials will be freely available for one month.
