We read with interest the study by Mills et al. [1] dealing with the effectiveness of dual versus single-action antidepressants in HIV-infected patients with depression. The study showed that antidepressant treatment was associated with significant improvements in both depression and immunovirological outcomes, with no differences between the two arms, potentially arguing against an additional beneficial role of an intensified (dual) versus single antidepressant treatment.
