ABSTRACT We report the case of a 24-year-old man who underwent 99mTc-DTPA scintigraphy for the evaluation the renal function. This scan incidentally showed an abnormal uptake of 99mTc-DTPA in the left lower abdominal region. SPECT/CT fusion images showed osteolytic bone destruction in the left ilium associated with soft tissue mass and elevated DTPA uptake. Biopsy pathology of the ilium lesion demonstrated Langerhans cell histiocytosis.
