In our opinion, the article confirms the impressive and leading experience of the University of Pittsburgh’s group and demonstrates how both the laparoscopic and robotic techniques should represent part of the available instruments that modern liver surgeons should have in their hands. Nonetheless the 2 groups are not clearly defined in this article, making their comparison weak for its purposes, and leaving the questions on respective postsurgical outcomes unanswered. Likely, the experience reported by Tsung et al confirms the benefits of multimodality as a third way.
