In this letter, a reconfigurable multifunctional polarization conversion metasurface is proposed. The polarization state of the reflected wave is controlled by changing the state of PIN diodes, which are embedded in unit cells composed of a butterfly structure and biasing network. When the PIN diodes are forward biased in the on-state, the metasurface can regulate the incident linearly polarized wave into its cross-polarized wave in the two bands of 7.30–8.90 GHz and 19.40–24.92 GHz and circularly polarized waves in 9.79–17.42 GHz. When the PIN diode is switched to the off-state, cross-polarization conversions are achieved in the band of 8.9–13.22 GHz and line-to-circular polarization conversions are obtained in the bands of 7.60–8.30 GHz and 14.71–16.83 GHz. The simulation results are consistent with the experimental results.
