We study the performance of applying maximal ratio combining (MRC) in a single-input-multiple-output (SIMO) system with a Poisson field of interferers. Due to the correlated interference powers across different antennas, the derivation of the exact outage probability is highly involved. To tackle this problem, we take advantage of the mathematical property of the sub-Gaussian $\alpha $ -stable interference signal vector, and then derive an analytical lower bound of the outage probability, which is shown to be very tight through Monte Carlo simulations. Our results can be used to assist performance analysis and design of SIMO MRC receiver with random interferers.
