Spectral necessary and sufficient state-feedback exponential stabilizability conditions are presented for the class of discrete-time switched linear systems having all except one of their modes represented by rank-one matrices. A subclass, within the above mentioned class of switched systems, is identified in which stabilizability of a switched system is equivalently related to that of a new associated switched linear system with rank-one modes. As a consequence of that, it is proved that stabilizability, in this subclass of switched linear systems, can always be determined by computing the spectral radii of a finite set of matrices as well as by solving a finite set of feasibility problems for linear inequalities.
