An equivalent model of slotted waveguide antennas (SWAs) is proposed for predicting the installed performance of an SWA whose detailed structure is difficult to obtain. The equivalent model is built with phaseless far-field (FF) information available from the vendor. The number of design parameters is reduced by considering the radiation mechanism of SWAs, leading to a fast optimization procedure. Different from existing reconstructed models, the proposed model is able to reproduce the radiating as well as the scattering performance of the original SWA and is thus suitable for evaluating the radiation of and the radio-frequency (RF) interference to the SWA on platforms. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency. The proposed model enables the analysis of installed performance of SWAs with limited information, which can be useful when one buys an antenna off the shelf. It also avoids direct modeling of the complex SWA structure, requiring fewer computational resources.
