It can be anticipated that the future wireless network will be composed of highly heterogeneous resources and experience explosively growing demands for mobile traffic services. Many challenges arise from a network management point of view regarding how to achieve efficient operation when utilizing heterogeneous resources for a large variety of services over a significant number of end users. Wireless network virtualization, which uses the idea of virtualizing wireless access and resources, has been proposed as the main evolution and is attracting increasing attention.
