A novel fixed-time controller is proposed for the synchronization of the complex networks using the hyperbolic sine function instead of the sum of the two power functions that are usually used in the existing fixed-time approaches. Compared with some existing results, the proposed controller is simpler with only a few parameters and can ensure a higher convergence and tighter bound for the settling time. In addition, the proposed controller does not include the sign function of the error and avoids the chattering effects. The theoretical analysis has proved that the synchronization error based on the proposed approach converges exactly to zero in a fixed-time interval. Three numerical experiments have clearly verified the theoretical results.
