This contribution evaluates integrated capacitive PD sensors for pre-molded cable joints, which can be used for PD online monitoring systems. In order to quantify differences in bandwidth and detection sensitivity, an analysis of the voltage transfer function of such sensors is given. Therefore, several sensor versions and their parameters are considered. Furthermore, a SPICE model is presented, which models the sensor behavior in frequency domain and can be used to estimate the transfer function. Finally, the sensor function is evaluated in the time domain, using a broadband UHF signal.
