The rehabilitation of people who suffers lower limb amputations, mostly have the aid of prosthetics. In the context of assistive technology, the contribution of this work is due to the development of a national prosthetic foot called Oliveira Foot. The development process was based on numerical simulations by finite elements. The results presented show that the use of this method allowed a reduction in the amount of physical manufacturing cycles, reducing production costs by at least six times. The prototype has been validated by experimental tests in vitro, and has passed the static test and static test of maximum force indicating its feasibility of use in humans, according to criteria defined in the standards used.
