Severe circumstances, such as the present pandemic, require us to focus on immediate and major concerns, but they also ask us to reflect on where we were, are, and want to be in the future. In doing so, severe circumstances are, essentially, asking us to design a future, one with new emphases, attitudes and activities, and which will mitigate, solve, or outright remove the present critical problems. To this end, this editorial is sharing few thoughts about the future of the IEEE Transactions on Bio Nanoscience—affectionately called TNB.
