This article considers a hybrid consensus in the context of second-order multi-agent systems with matrix-weighted networks. A matrix-weighted hybrid consensus controller is built upon the sampled-data method in continuous-time subsystem. For the cases of undirected graph and directed graph, some sufficient and necessary conditions, which depend on the sampling period, coupling gains and the eigenvalues of Laplacian matrix, are derived with the assistance of stability theory and matrix theory. Finally, through simulation comparison, the validity of the obtained results is demonstrated.
