A piezoelectric generator (PEG) under propagation of an elastic wave is studied. A PEG under an elastic wave shows a different phenomenon compared to a shock wave, especially in pulse rise time. With the shock wave, the rise time of the generated impulse waveform is the same as the wave propagation time in the piezoelectric material. But, the rise time of the impulse waveform due to an elastic wave is longer than the propagation time. To examine this phenomenon, a physical model is established, and the experiment data and the calculation results are compared to verify the model.
