Experimental study of brittle nonconductive materials with magnetic-pulse method revealed a number of common patterns of fracture process. Numerical simulation results demonstrate the ability to test metal samples with magnetic-pulse method in microsecond duration range. Ways of reducing the induced currents in the zone of plastic deformation of samples were suggested. Loading schemes of metal samples, which exclude and include the impact of electroplastic effect on the deformation properties of metal, were considered.
