A novel dual-motor coupling powertrain (DMCP) is used to determine the setting of a mode-shift control strategy. Each process is classified, and then the jerk value and the torque coupling and speed coupling process are analyzed. Ten possible mode-shift processes are analyzed and simulated with the detailed facing-forward transmission simulation model developed using Simulink. The result shows that the DMCP can shift mode without a dynamic power interruption and with limited jerk value. The DMCP can improve the ride comfort during the mode-switch process.
