A 34-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital, complaining of melena that had lasted for one month. The total amount of tarry, black stool was about 1000 mL. Physical examination revealed no tenderness or rebound tenderness. Laboratory tests showed a low hemoglobin level of 63 g/L. The fecal occult blood test was positive.
