Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has been widely used in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases for more than four decades.1 ERCP was initially used for diagnosing biliary and pancreatic diseases only. It is soon evolved into a therapeutic option owing to technical refinements.2,3.
