I commend the authors for their research in what is an important area – the communication of health information through the media. However, by restricting their study to magazines, I don’t think the authors have captured the full extent of this public health problem. For example, popular magazines may misrepresent health information but so do other forms of media including television, radio, newspapers and online media.
