Postoperative inflammation is a common consequence of surgery and the ensuing stress response. Local anesthetics have anti‐inflammatory properties. The primary aim of this study was to evaluate if LA administrated intraperitoneally perioperatively might inhibit expression of inflammatory cytokines.
