Tasseography is considered an art of fortune-telling based on one's interpretation of patterns in tea leaves. Modern healthcare delivery yields no predisposition to such forecasting, and instead requires the use of empiric data to inform decisions that lead to efficient care and allocation of resources to the burgeoning end-stage renal disease (ESRD) population.
