Based on a post-hoc analysis, Reischig and al. reported that prophylaxis with valganciclovir was a risk factor for BK virus (BKV) replication in kidney transplant (KT) recipients (1). The authors speculate that ganciclovir could inhibit BKV-specific T-cell immunity.
