est, I remember that we started using plain bupivacaine because the supply of heavy cinchocaine had ceased and heavy 0.5% bupicacine was not then available (a heavy solution of lignocaine 5% was available for a short time, but not considered suitable for obstetric use). I can also remember that intramuscular papaveretum and/or Aspav tablets (aspirin 500 mg + papaveretum 10 mg, discontinued in 2004), two tablets qds, were administered effectively for postoperative pain, and much appreciated by patients.
