In August 2018, a 21-year-old patient, with a previously accorded diagnosis of Bipolar Affective Disorder, was admitted to the emergency department of Beijing Anding Hospital with acutely elevated mood and behavioral disturbances. On assessment, the patient was diagnosed with a manic relapse in the context of his previously accorded Bipolar diagnosis. The patient was confused and not oriented to time, place and person. She presented with disordered and bradyphrenic thinking. Her mood was unstable, and she displayed chaotic behavior. There was no family history of psychiatric disorders.
