The September issue of BJD includes guidelines covering narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB), providing an update of the previous iteration from 2004. The guidance covers NB-UVB treatment of the full range of skin diseases, including a specific section for photodermatoses, and is accompanied by an updated patient information leaflet, available on the British Association of Dermatologists Skin Health Information website: https://www. skinhealthinfo.org.uk/a-z-conditionstreatments. The guidelines make 38 recommendations to guide clinical care and include sections covering home-based phototherapy for improving access, potential adverse effects such as photocarcinogenesis, treatment of children, and governance of phototherapy services.
