d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAAO) is a flavine adenine dinucleotide‐containing flavoenzyme and specifically catalyses oxidative deamination of d‐amino acids. This study aimed to explore the association between increased cerebral DAAO expression or enzymic activity and the development of cerebral ischaemia.
