SS is an uncommon condition characterized by recurrent painful cutaneous inflammatory eruptions. It is rare in childhood and has a broad range of extracutaneous manifestations. Revised diagnostic criteria have been published recently with only 2 clinical and histopathological features that are sufficient for the diagnosis of SS, even in absence of the minor/variable features.SS as a neutrophilic disease, may be of particular concern in pediatrics particularly in infants. Neutrophilic disease involving the upper airways and the heart is associated with very young age. Clinico-pathological correlation is sufficient for timely diagnosis that may be life-saving in this age group. Early referral for cardio-pulmonary investigation and close clinical monitoring are required. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
