• From 1980 to 2014, 745 consecutive patients were undergoing parotid surgery in our institution and 90 (12%) were diagnosed with a malignant tumour, with primary lymphoma of the parotid gland being diagnosed in nineteen patients (21.1% of all malignant tumours and 2.6% of all parotidectomies). • Follicular lymphoma (n = 9) was the most common histological type, followed by marginal cell lymphoma (n = 7).Themajorityof caseswere low-grade lymphoma. • There are no distinguishing clinical or radiological features to help identify these cases as primary lymphoma before surgery. There was no history of Sjogren’s syndrome or other auto-immune conditions and no reported B-symptoms. • With seventeen of nineteen patients (89%) being disease-free after 72 months or longer, surgery may be considered as a single curative option in low-grade lymphoma of the parotid gland.
