Hemopatch (HE) advanced hemostatic pad composed of collagen and a synthetic, protein-reactive monomer which polymerises on contact with protein containing body fluids such as blood and CSF to seal tissues. HE is readily available which shortens the operating time, and may be manipulated intra-nasally to reconstruct defects of the anterior skull base. Reconstruction using HE reduces the morbidity compared with traditional facia lata graft harvesting techniques. Length of stay and operative times might be decreased due to lower morbidity from donor site complications. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
