Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for a laterally spreading tumour (LST) involving the cecal diverticulum is challenging due to submucosal fibrosis [1], risk of perforation [2] and poor maneuverability [3]. Moreover, LSTs involving a colonic diverticulum are traditionally considered a contraindication for ESD because of the absence of muscle layer [4]. Although several cases have been reported, use of ESD for this tumour remains controversial [5]. Here, we present the technique showing how to utilize rubber band-clip traction [5] to facilitate the ESD in LST involving a caecal diverticulum (Video S1).
