Interesting observations were reported in the article on mucinous tumours predicting poor response to chemoradiation (CRT) and high margin positive resections by Koeter et al.1 We congratulate the authors on supplementing the available literature on unsatisfactory treatment response of mucinous rectal cancers. We have had similar observations with these adverse histological subtypes of rectal cancers and agree with the overall conclusions made, however, there are certain areas where we differ from the study group.2.
