suppressed individuals, with both HPyV6 and HPyV7 detected in cutaneous biopsy specimens. Given the negative results in these three cases, so-called peacock plumage within the stratum corneum is not a pathognomonic finding for detectable HPyV6 or HPyV7. Limitations include the small number of cases tested. It remains possible that viruses other than HPyV6 or HPyV7 could be the cause of the findings in the stratum corneum in these cases. Further study of lesions with similar parakeratosis and dyskeratosis may elucidate an underlying etiology.
