Myositis ossificans (MO) is a benign self limiting reactive lesion of the soft tissue characterized by heterotopic ossification. It is usually associated with the previous history of trauma. But sometimes the trauma history will be trivial to recall by the patient. MO is known by several names including, Pseudo malignant osseous tumors of soft tissues, Myositis ossificans circumscripta, Myosclerosis, or Ossifying hamartoma.
