Diabetes UK is as committed today as it was 80 years ago to furthering our understanding of diabetes to improve the lives of people with diabetes and future generations. But as we consider how to shape the future roadmap of diabetes research, we must reflect on and celebrate the distance travelled over the last eight decades. We must acknowledge the researchers who have led tremendous advances in diabetes treatment, management and care and the impact these advances have had on the lives of millions of people in the UK and worldwide.
