The 24 Chinese Society of Dermatology (CSD) Annual Meeting was special, held jointly with the 5 Eastern Asia Dermatology Congress (EADC) in June 2018. There were more than 5,000 attendees in the magnificent “Spring City” at the end of Burma Road, Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province. CSD President Jie Zheng and EADC General Secretary Xing-Hua Gao welcomed attendees, as did CSD past president Hong-Duo Chen with an enthusiastic opening address. They were ably assisted by a talented cadre of distinguished colleagues (Fig 1) and international guests including Alex V. Anstey (United Kingdom), Martine Bagot (France), John Chen (USA), Jin Ho Chung (Korea), Philippe G. Humbert (France), Weimin Hu (USA), Shigaku Ikeda (Japan), Eun So Lee (Korea), American Academy of Dermatology President Henry W. Lim (USA), Torello M. Lotti (Italy), Pierfrancesco Morganti (Italy), Akimichi Morita (EADC President, Japanese Society of Dermatology), Qing-Sheng Mi (USA), Robert A. Schwartz (USA), Seong Jun Seo (EADC Korean Dermatological Association President), Bruce H. Thiers (USA), Henry K. Wong (USA), and Toshiyuki Yamamoto (Japanese Society of Dermatology EADC General Secretary). Chinese Society of Dermatology Vice President Min Zheng served as President of the 5 Eastern Asia Dermatology Congress, with CSD Past President Jian-Zhong Zhang and incoming President Qianjin Lu in important leadership roles Many superb presentations were given. EADC General Secretary Xing-Hua Gao highlighted susceptibility of epidermal derived stationary tumor cells to hyperthermia. Akimichi Morita accentuated systemic therapy for psoriasis from phototherapy to biologics. Narrowband UVB and 308-nm excimer light are commonly available in Japan, where there is now a focus on “3T”: Time-management (early intervention), Tight control (PASI90/100), and Transition.
