Dear editor, I read a manuscript entitled “Vitamin D deficiency as a seed in a fertile soil: A proposed hypothesis” written by Dr. Tahereh Davarpasand. She proposed this interesting hypothesis through a critical review of the literature. According to this hypothesis, vitamin D deficiency exerts its detrimental effect when the myocardium is vulnerable. This hypothesis, such as any hypothesis, should be evaluated in welldesigned studies. I suggest cardiac magnetic resonance imaging as an assessing modality, included in these future studies. Using very sensitive biochemical markers can be helpful as another evaluating method.
