BACKGROUND Bisphenol A(BPA) is an organic compound found in resin restorative materials. It has been known to cause esterogenicity along with other ill effects in human bodies. This study aims to evaluate the elution of BPA upon polishing of resin restorative material. MATERIALS AND METHODS Discs samples of 4 different resin restorative materials were prepared and tested for release of BPA after 24 hours and from the flash produced after polishing of the discs. RESULT AND CONCLUSION Finishing and polishing of resin restorative material adds to patient's exposure to BPA. Hence extra care should be taken while case selection and vulnerable patients should be excluded.
