Tinea capitis is a common scalp infection whose gold standard for diagnosis is the isolation of infectious agents through mycological exams. In vivo reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM), initially used in the diagnosis of melanocytic lesions, has been used for diagnostic assistance in infectious diseases. We report the use of in vivo RCM in a case of tinea capitis and compare its images with the results of dermoscopy and mycological exams.
