Dermoscopy is a useful tool for diagnosing lisch nodules on brown eyes Dear Editor, Diagnosis of neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is based on seven cardinal criteria, developed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) consensus conference in 1988. Lisch nodules (LN) are a major diagnostic criterion, usually assessed by ophthalmologists with a classic slit-lamp examination. Dermoscopy can be a useful method to visualize LN. Herein, we report the dermoscopic features of LN in a series of six patients with NF1 illustrating the utility of this method on brown-eyed patients. We performed a noncontact ocular dermatoscopic examination with Dermlite 4 QNB dermatoscope for six patients (four males and two female patients) aged 3, 12, 16, 19, 24, and 31 years old presenting with multiple caf e-au-lait spots (CLS). Dermoscopic images were recorded using a digital camera (Canon Powershot SX710 HS). Four cases had axillary freckling
