of traction alopecia in at-risk cultural groups other than AfricanAmerican patients. Thus, clinicians must recognize that traction alopecia may commonly develop in other cultural groups as well and provide preventative counseling accordingly. Due to the lack of research on traction alopecia in other cultural groups, further study is warranted to assess the prevalence of this condition in these susceptible groups. In addition to studying clinical features, treatment modalities that provide culturally sensitive and appropriate care, including protective hairstyles and headcoverings, must also be emphasized.
