Recent systematic reviews suggested associations between atopic dermatitis (AD) and risk of lymphomas1 and basal cell carcinoma.2 However, it is unclear whether AD is also associated with solid cancers. Notably, shared genetic and environmental risk factors may exist. Furthermore, AD is associated with chronic inflammation and use of immunosuppressants, which can be carcinogenic.1, 3 There is a need for better insight into the association between AD and solid organ malignancies.
