Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a rare, non-infectious neutrophilic dermatosis of unclear aetiology. PG is associated with inflammatory bowel disease, the metabolic syndrome, rheumatic or hematologic disorders or malignancies in up to 70% of cases1,2 . Due to its low incidence (3-10/1 000 000)3 randomised data on the efficacy of different treatment modalities are sparse. Topical and systemic corticosteroids, topical tacrolimus and systemic cyclosporine are among the most commonly utilized pharmacologic agents for PG treatment. This article is protected by copyright.
