Sir, recurrent idiopathic aphtosous stomatitis (RIAS) is a frequent disorder that induces a marked alteration of the quality of life of affected individuals. Thalidomide is the only treatment that demonstrated its efficacy in a multicenter placebo controlled trial. However, the use of thalidomide is limited by its side-effects and it is usually reserved for the most severe cases.
