My father was a successful and extremely busy gynaecologist. When I was a medical student, he recommended me many times to choose dermatology. Apart from that, during my practice in the Dermatology and Venereology department in my fifth year of medical training, I was fascinated by our colourful discipline and its books telling the medical story with pictures. Furthermore, I realized very early that my visual memory is good in remembering different kinds of visual images, and thus I could be successful at DOI: 10.1111/jdv.19021
