In the article, we established a genus name Aurem, based on the Latin word Auris, meaning “ear”. Unfortunately, we overlooked that “Aurem” is always accusative case. According to the ICZN Article 11.8, a genus-group name (see also Article 10.3) must be a word of two or more letters and must be, or be treated as, a noun in the nominative singular. If treated as a Latin word, the genus name Aurem should be corrected as Auris, which is a noun in the nominative singular. However, the genus name Auris is preoccupied (Auris Spix, 1827 is a genus of Mollusca and Auris Neviani, 1930 is a genus of crustaceans). Thus, Auris Jhin & Park, 2018 would be invalid (see Article 23.3.5). Here, we change the etymology of the genus name Aurem to an arbitrary combination of letters. In addition, no correction of the name regarding the grammar is needed.
