The symposium IBD 2024: Charting a New Course in IBD was held in Brisbane, Australia, in November 2024. This was the fifth such meeting for the Australian inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) healthcare community. This symposium provided an overview of current and emerging management strategies for ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD). Key topic areas covered included the importance of treating to a minimum of endoscopic remission; important considerations for treatment choice, treatment switch, and treatment de‐escalation; treatment during pregnancy; and emerging therapeutic options. This supplement provides a detailed summary of each of the symposium presentations, as well as key take‐home messages.
