We read with interest the paper "Preoperative evaluation of microvascular invasion with circulating tumor DNA in operable hepatocellular carcinoma" published in an upcoming issue of Liver International.1 It is an elegant study that looked at the association between microvascular invasion (MVI) and circular tumor DNA (ctDNA) for patients with surgical hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and their outcome prediction.
