We echo the notion of contextual offers being 'controversial' as mentioned in the paper, but for different reasons. We feel as though contextual offers undermine the academic potential of students from poorer socio-economic backgrounds. In recent years, most contextual offer policies have been centred around lowering the grade requirements in getting into medicine.
