Collaborative efforts have been made by medical schools in South Korea to offer quality online learning resources. The consortium of Korean medical schools for e-learning has developed a repository of e-learning resources for medical education. This e-learning portal, eMededu (www.mededu.or.kr), contains over 1,700 resources and has received about 400,000 visits annually. Still, the large, comprehensive volumes of contents that need to be covered pose challenges, and learning resources should be better suited to student learning needs and styles. Although there have been several initiatives of medical schools to develop and share learning resources, these are mostly contributed by medical faculty, and research and practice is scant on student-led creation of such resources.
